RN Learning: Legacy Building for a Perinatal/Neonatal Loss
RN Learning: Legacy Building for a Perinatal/Neonatal Loss
Presented by Jennifer Archer Papa, BSN, RN-C, NICC, CPLC

Creating lasting memories with a loved one who is going to die is critical in our human experience. We pass stories and share them and this validates a life that has been lived. If a newborn or unborn baby dies, the opportunity for creating memories is scant, minimal, some would say nonexistent. Therefore, it is essential, as nurses, that we assist a family in validating the life of their child, however brief. This presentation assists in teaching how to seek and create opportunities to establish a legacy of a brief life.
