RN Clinical Orientation Program
The RN Clinical Orientation Program was created specifically by HPNA for registered nurses new to the hospice and palliative nursing specialty.
This comprehensive online program and companion resource textbook utilizes sound clinical judgement and evidence-based practice standards as the foundation descriptions for palliative and hospice nursing clinical practice. The program’s approach follows a logical sequence that clearly defines the three levels of competency (novice, advanced beginner, competent) and provides guidance in developing individualized orientation plans. Self-assessment tools are included to promote ownership of the process and help direct the development of an appropriate position orientation plan based on the individual needs of the nurse. This is a great resource for RNs orienting to palliative nursing.
This program is essential for educators, administrators, program developers, coordinators, and policy developers to explore for orientating RNs within their organization.
As you proceed through the module classrooms, you will be guided step-by-step to successfully complete the entire course for CE award. Once you have completed the last module, you will continue to have access to the course for 14 days at which point your orientation access will close. Upon completing and submitting the evaluation of the final module of the RN Orientation, you will receive your CE certificate, awarding you 20.5 CNE hours with 5.5 designated pharmacology credit hours for successful program completion.
