Sandra Lee Schafer Certification Scholarships

Number of Scholarships Available: 20
In 2022, HPNF will provide 20 scholarships to nurses nationwide to cover the cost of certification fees. Valid for those earning a new Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) certification or those who are renewing their current HPCC certification. Individuals can apply for the scholarships before or after taking the exam.
Chapter Education Grant

HPNF promotes hospice and palliative nursing at the local level through Chapter Education Grants. Each year, HPNF awards up to two grants to HPNA Chartered Chapters for up to $1,500 each. The purpose of the grant is to benefit chapter members through education and expand chapter membership. The grants are competitive, and winners are selected by a review committee consisting of HPNA members.
The Team Conference for Hospice and Palliative Care Scholarship
(Formerly known as the Clinical Practice Forum)

HPNF offers up to 6 scholarships annually for HPNA members to attend the Team Conference for Hospice and Palliative Care Scholarship. The scholarship covers the cost of registration for the event.
ELNEC Scholarship

Number of Scholarships Available: 8
HPNF offers up to 8 scholarships annually for HPNA members to attend an HPNA-sponsored ELNEC Train-the-Trainer course.
Emerging Leaders Award
Applications will be available September 2024
Number of Scholarships: 30
This award is designed to celebrate and encourage early career hospice and palliative nurses. Applicants were required to be under the age of 40 OR have less than five years experience in hospice and palliative nursing.
Annual Assembly Scholarship

There are 5 scholarships available for HPNA members to attend the Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care.
Judy Lentz Scholarship

Number of Scholarships: 1
The Judy Lentz Scholarship for the Advancement of Palliative Care in Oncology Nursing provides a registered nurse, who is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, with a one-year membership (new or renewal) to HPNA, as well as conference registration for the Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care. The 2022 Annual Assembly will be held in Nashville, TN from February 9-12.
8th National Nursing Ethics Conference

Sigma Foundation for Nursing/HPNF End-of-Life Nursing Care Research Grant

In 2004, Sigma Foundation for Nursing and the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF) partnered to offer an annual research grant. With the goal of encouraging contributions to the advancement of nursing care through research, one grant of up to $10,000 will be awarded annually. Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant.
Individual Education Scholarship

Number of Scholarships: 4
The individual education scholarships were established by HPNF to provide financial assistance for nursing professionals earning academic degrees. This scholarship may be used for, but not limited to, tuition, books, computer software, and supplies that are related to nursing education. Nurses at all levels of nursing education (from entry level through graduate degrees) are encouraged to apply.
