Pediatric Palliative Care Opportunites

Through a grant from the Y.C. Ho/Helen & Michael Chiang Foundation, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation is offering over 100 professional opportunities for pediatric nursing professionals, including certification and review courses, HPNA membership, pediatric nursing publications, and attendance at a future ELNEC Pediatric Train-the-Trainer course.  Applicants can apply for multiple scholarships within these opportunities, and each has up to 25 scholarship opportunities available. Details and application information for each opportunity is listed below.
 

CHPPN Online Review Course Scholarship

Receive the cost of registration for the online Certified Hospice and Palliative Pediatric Nurse (CHPPN) review course, presented by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.  This self-paced online course includes nine modules, and the scholarship winners will have access for three months to complete the course.  In addition, CNE credit hours are awarded upon the successful completion of the modules.  Several of these scholarships are awarded monthly, and the requirements for this scholarship are listed below.

Eligibility and to Apply:

  • You must be a current HPNA member, but those applying for the HPNA membership scholarship listed below will also be considered
  • Rolling application deadlines are the first of each month
  • Recipients of the scholarship will be given a promotional code to register for the course
  • Application eligibility documents include:
    • A completed, signed, and dated CHPPN Online Review Course Scholarship Application
    • A 250-word essay (see application below for full guidelines)
    • CV or resume

     

Application

CHPPN Certification Exam Scholarship

Refund your registration fees for the Certified Hospice and Palliative Pediatric Nurse (CHPPN) examination, designed for experienced hospice and palliative pediatric registered nurses.  This reimbursement scholarship is for the cost of the CHPPN exam taken through the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center. Several of these scholarships are awarded monthly, and the requirements for this scholarship are listed below.

Eligibility and to Apply:

  • You must be a current HPNA member, but those applying for the HPNA membership scholarship listed below will also be considered 
  • Rolling deadline applications are the first of each month
  • Application eligibility documents include:
    • A completed, signed, and dated Certification Scholarship Application
    • A 250-word essay (see application for full guidelines)
    • CV or resume
    • One professional letter of reference, signed by a supervisor or colleague, preferably on letterhead
    • Proof of passing the CHPPN Certification Exam

HPNA Membership Scholarship

This scholarship awards a year of HPNA membership for those working in pediatric palliative care. The benefits of HPNA membership include connections to hospice and palliative nursing communities, local chapters throughout the United States, pediatric-based Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and discounts on educational and certification materials available through the HPNA Shop.  Membership also entitles you to apply for all scholarship opportunities offered through HPNF, including for conferences and certification.  Several of these scholarships are awarded monthly, and the requirements for this scholarship are listed below.

  • Recipients of the scholarship will be given a promotional code for a one year RN level membership to HPNA
  • Application eligibility requirements include:
    • A completed, signed, and dated membership application

HPNA Pediatric Publications Book Bundle Scholarship

This scholarship goes to qualified HPNA members who will receive our pediatric book bundle for free. If you are a pediatric palliative nurse, this bundle is ideal for you, especially if you are taking the CHPPN Online Review Course or the ELNEC Pediatric Train-the-Trainer Course offered yearly through HPNA. 

Eligibility and to Apply:

  • Recipients of the scholarship will be given a promotional code to purchase the pediatric book bundle which includes:

ELNEC Pediatric Palliative Care Course - San Antonio, TX

The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation offers scholarships to those attending the upcoming ELNEC Pediatric Palliative Care Train-the-Trainer Course, Thursday, April 11 - Friday, April 12, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas.  Specific scholarship details are listed below, and nearly twenty applications are available. You do not have to register for the conference before applying. If awarded the scholarship, you will be given a promotional code to register with. If you are not a recipient, you will still have time to register at the early bird rate.  The application deadline is February 11, 2019.
