Support your nursing care team through individual or organizational involvement with professional development and educational opportunities.

The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association and the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center created the Employer Partner Program to partner with employers and support their nursing care teams through education and certification. Employers may participate through individual staff discounts or through an organizational participation. Please see the benefits of each option below. 

According to Ginger Marshall, CEO of both organizations as well as HPNF, "By supporting hospice and palliative nursing education and certification among its staff, these employers are advancing the quality of care available to the thousands of people who need pain management and end-of-life nursing services each year."

Education and certification are ways to help validate the competence and knowledge of the nursing staff and the Employer Partner Program is a way to help focus greater attention on the importance of nursing in the delivery of hospice and palliative care services. To qualify for participation, employers must guarantee a minimum of 10 HPNA memberships, 10 HPCC certification exams, and/or 10 POLARIS packages over a 12 month period

Employer Partner Program Options

Individual Participation

Individual participation allows for volume discounts on individual HPNA memberships, educational resources, and HPCC certification exams. Individuals may receive discounts through their employer involvement of a commitment of at least 10 memberships, certification exams, or POLARIS Orientation Programs. Individuals will receive the discounts at the time of registration by using your company discount code.

Organizational Participation

Organizational participation allows your company to be the primary subscriber, allowing for numerous nurses to participate in HPNA membership, educational resources, and certification exams. The overall commitment is greater, but it allows for larger savings. Participation levels are based on the number of estimated nurse members. Please call for a quote on organizational pricing.

POLARIS for Employer Partners

Virtual Live Certification Review Course

This program is designed for employers looking to certify Advanced Practice Nurses (ACHPN), Registered Nurses (CHPN), and/or Pediatric Nurses (CHPPN) through the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center. Two nationally certified HPNA designated faculty members are provided to facilitate the course in a virtual format, including a 30-day post program window for questions. Course materials are provided and participants may earn both NCPD credit hours and 4.0 Pharmacotherapeutic Category 1 designated credit hours. An HTML 5 browser is required for appropriate access.

Employer of the Year Award

The Employer of the Year Award is an annual award presented to an organization that has provided sustained support of their employees through education and certification programs for hospice and palliative caregivers. The first award was presented in 2006 to Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA. Columbus Hospice continues to demonstrate support of its nurses and their certification accomplishments.
