CHPPN® Certification Review Course

The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association supports nurses desiring to advance their professional development with specialty certification. To better serve these nurses, we have created a new Certified Hospice and Palliative Pediatric Nurse (CHPPN)® Certification Review Course, available as a self-paced online course.

The course is designed to assist with preparation for the hospice and palliative pediatric nurse certification exam by highlighting self-identifying topics that require further preparation and study in advance of sitting for the specialty certification examination. The educational content may also be used to increase the hospice and palliative nurse’s knowledge of general pediatric palliative nursing.

Disclosure:  Participation in an HPNA review course does not guarantee success in passing a certification test.

The online review course is a self-paced course that includes nine modules. Each module has its own objectives, slide presentation with accompanying audio, post-module test, and evaluation. You will have access to the course for three months. When you have completed all of the modules, your course credit CNE certificate will be provided.

Online Modules

  • Life Threatening Conditions in Children
  • Pain Management
  • Symptom Management
  • Treatment and Procedures
  • Family Centered Care
  • Education and Advocacy
  • Care at End of Life

Each module refers to content in the Core Curriculum for the Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Nurse, 2nd edition (2017). Each module addresses sections of the test content from the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center’s (HPCC) CHPPN® Candidate Handbook.
