Certified Nurses Day

March 19th

A day to recognize certified nurses

Certified Nurses Day is a special day of recognition to celebrate all certified nursing team members across the country who contribute to the advancement of nursing professionalism and to higher standards and better outcomes in patient health.

You might ask, why March 19? According to ANCC, “When we look for a nursing leader who was truly a pioneer in developing our modern nursing certification system, no figure has played a more seminal and leading influence than Margretta “Gretta” Madden Styles, who led the first comprehensive study of credentialing in the 1970’s and was a key figure in both national and international nursing organizations. A former president of the ICN, Gretta also has an international stature and following. So March 19th, Gretta’s birthday, is the ideal day. Please join us in recognizing certified nurses around the world and in honoring a founding mother of our current system of nursing certification.”

Congratulations to our over 18,000 HPCC certificants!

HPCC is the only nursing specialty to certify individuals from all levels of the nursing team (APRN, RN, Ped RN, LP/VN, and NA). HPCC is proud to say that four of our nursing certification exams are accredited either by American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) or National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NOCA).
